I Promise is a Biblically based premarital resource designed to prepare dating or engaged couples for marriage.

Each I Promise workbook includes access to our online personality assessment, the Connect Assessment® with LOGB®, which helps couples better understand each other's unique personalities, strengths, and communication preferences. The result is a couple better prepared for all God has in store for them in marriage.  

Sessions topics include: Fearfully and Wonderfully Made for Each Other, Covenant Commitment, Roles, Responsibility and Decision Making, Communication, Conflict Resolution, Biblical Finances and Sexuality.

I Promise is best completed with a Facilitator, counselor, pastor, or Mentor Couple, but can be complete as a Couple.

Book Features

Strong, Biblical Emphasis
I Promise encourages seriously dating or engaged Couples to view all aspects of their relationship through Biblical lens and establish a solid foundation for their marriages that will withstand the pressures of today’s culture.

Applicable in Multiple Settings

Couples can experience I Promise individually, with a large or small group, or in a more private setting such as with a Pastor, Counselor, or Mentor couple.

Interactive Online Experience

After registering on the I Promise website and creating a personal profile, Couples work through a checklist to complete their Relationship Survey and Personality Assessment and then connect to their Fiancé and Facilitator.

Personalized Wedding Vows

Couples are encouraged to write their promises or vows to their Fiancé based on what they learn during each chapter. Knowing what each vow means, Couples can use these vows in their wedding ceremony.

Connect Assessment® with LOGB®
The Connect Assessment® helps the Couple better prepare for marriage by gaining more insights about themselves and their Fiancé. The exercises in I Promise help the Couple work through the detailed profile report to learn more about successfully communicating and resolving conflict.
 

Facilitator Support

The I Promise experience does not require Facilitators to be trained or certified.  The I Promise Facilitator's Workbook includes a registration code for the Facilitator's account and programming access to the Couple's accounts along with best practices for guiding Couples through the curriculum.

Honest Talk

Every chapter of I Promise concludes with an exercise section entitled Honest Talk. These exercises encourage Couples to discuss specific questions about their expectations, perspectives, and chapter material.

Frequently Asked Questions


Each individual needs an I Promise workbook to complete the questions and activities in the workbook prior to discussion as a Couple. Each workbook purchase includes access to IPromiseExperience.com to complete the online Relationship Survey and Connect Assessment® and the ability to connect as a couple to the Facilitator.


Yes, there is a separate Facilitator Workbook. Facilitators use their workbook code (located on the inside cover) to register at https://IPromiseExperience.com. Facilitator account programming grants access to the Couple's Relationship Survey and Connect Assessment® results in addition to tips and suggestions for using I Promise in both group and individual couple settings.

We recommend you complete I Promise in 7 sessions, one session dedicated to the Introduction and one session dedicated to each of the 6 chapters of I Promise. We encourage you to spend a session on the Introduction because it helps establish a foundation for understanding the rest of the material moving forward.


Each I Promise chapter has material that needs to be completed individually as well as exercises that should be completed as a Couple. Each chapter includes a section called Honest Talk, that will challenge the Couple to participate in discussing thought provoking questions that will require honest answers. We strongly recommend that at least one hour be set aside for this discussion time.


Yes, I Promise was designed for use with an individual Couple meeting with their pastor, counselor or Mentor Couple but it also works well in a group setting.


Once the facilitator is registered online at https://IPromiseExperience.com., they will share their Facilitator Code found on the inside cover of the I Promise workbook with their Couple.  In addition, Couples are to complete the Checklist to enter their Facilitator's code. Once the Couple has added the Facilitator, and the Facilitator accepts them, Facilitators have access to all their information and assessment results in the Couples section. Facilitators are able to connect with as many couples as they would like and have the ability to remove couples when they have finished the I Promise experience with the Couple.
