Your personal privacy is a principal concern to us at Strong Marriages. Our goal in outlining our policy on the collection and use of user information is to ensure the highest level of confidentiality and security. When you provide your personal information on this website, we will not give or sell your personal information to any outside company for its use in marketing or solicitation. We will maintain the confidentiality of your personal information and it will be used only to support your relationship with your future spouse and your Facilitator, should you have a Facilitator as a guide through this process. Your information also assists Strong Marriages in providing better and more targeted services to you. Additionally, internal practices are in place to help protect your privacy by limiting access to and use of your information. At Strong Marriages, we allow our users to maintain control over their personal information while attempting to provide a more interactive online experience. Our intention is to send e-mail only to users who choose to receive such e-mails. At any time, you have the right to decline receiving future communications from Strong Marriages in any manner, including but not limited to information associated with this site, e-mails or newsletters.
How We Collect Information
There are three (3) ways in which this website may collect information about you.
The I Promise website will request that you
voluntarily provide personal information for the purpose of establishing a better understanding of how your life experiences have impacted your most meaningful relationships, especially your possible future spouse. This information may also be beneficial for purposes such as correspondence, site registration, membership, making a purchase, or online surveys. Information that we ask you to provide may include your name, e-mail address, telephone number, mailing address and birth date, as well as other specific information regarding your life experiences and perspective on marriage in the areas of communication, conflict resolution, sexuality and finances.
Each time an I Promise website page is requested from your browser, we log your computer's IP address into our log files. Your computer has been pre-assigned a 12-digit number from your Internet Service Provider and may be static or dynamically assigned—this number is the IP address. Strong Marriages uses IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track movements on the site, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to any other personally identifiable information by Strong Marriages.
The Information We Collect
We collect only information needed to help couples prepare for marriage. Facilitators are given suggestions and recommendations regarding the use of the information supplied by the consumer. We limit the collection of information about users to only information needed to successfully guide dating and engaged individuals through the preparation process for marriage, and to fulfill any legal and regulatory requirements.
The background information is collected for the purpose of assisting your Facilitator as well as providing valuable research data. When quantifying data for research, specific names and addresses are not used. The information collected through the Relationship Responses and the Uniquely United Assessment helps to provide a "snapshot" of the user couple’s relationship. Information is requested from both fiancés in the areas of family of origin, commitment to the relationship, perspectives regarding addictions, spirituality, communication, conflict resolution, sexuality, finances and overall relationship satisfaction.
This information is stored in a highly secured password protected server. Information gathered from the assessment will be seen by Facilitators, which could be a minister or pastor, mentor, life coach, counselor, or group leader. Each of these individuals is aware of the sensitivity of the information and has been educated in how to use the information throughout the premarital process. No other users entering the I Promise website will be allowed to see this information.
Responses from the personality portion of the Connect Assessment are captured in printable form and made available only to the Facilatators your authorize, you, and your future spouse. Once finished with the I Promise experience process, the information gathered from both mentors and mentees will be stored in a password protected secured area for an undetermined amount of time.
Use and Disclosure of Information
Strong Marriages does not sell or distribute the name(s), email(s), or contact information of any user to any other individual or group. Users can go online to check and update their profile information. When quantifying data for research, specific names and addresses are not used.
Third-party Internet sites and services accessible through this website have separate privacy and information collection practices, independent of Strong Marriages. Strong Marriages assumes no responsibility or liability for these independent policies or actions. You are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your passwords, membership ID, or any account information. Please be careful and responsible whenever you are online. If you post personal information online that is accessible to the public, you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return.
